Do You Hate Me?

Do you hate me?

Because I sit at the end of the world,

Laying naked with diamonds and pearls,

Without conflict which feeds your world.

Will you leave me?

Because there’s nothing to pin me down,

Indifferent of smiles and frowns,

The universe rests in my soul.

Do I confuse you?

Because I can just walk away,

Without as much as a word to say,

Your vanity’s not in my way, I repent.

Do I scare you?

Because I see your truth through the veil,

Drink your soul up in my silky grail,

Till my body is weak and frail, you are part of me.

Do you love me?

Because I see who you are,

Underneath your regrets and your scars,

And your delicate fingers in the palm of my hand,

As we travel through time, no beginning or end.

Will you see me?

With your eyes held so stern,

Fixed on lessons you learned,

All the times you’ve been burned,

You look to me, I reveal your truth.

Do you hate me?

Because I sit at the end of the world,

Laying naked with diamonds and pearls,

Without conflict which feeds your world.
